Dark tan without stains, without smell - is it possible?
Share
These are the qualities you desire most in a tan: it should be dark, even, long-lasting, and the tanning experience itself should be pleasant, so it should also have a pleasant scent. We admit, the list of expectations is quite long, but the good news is that there are ways to achieve that perfect tan. How? We've outlined our suggestions below.
(Very) dark tan
For many, this is the number one reason they choose to use a tanning bed, spend time in the sun, or use self-tanner . That's why, for years, we've been searching for increasingly advanced solutions that help achieve this effect while simultaneously caring for the skin's condition. Our proven method for enhancing your tan to a beautiful, dark color includes tanning products containing ingredients that accelerate tanning and deepen the effect. How does this work? Accelerators stimulate the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for darkening the skin. In other words, the tanning rate is faster and the effects are more noticeable. Bronzers are another type of tan enhancer. These ingredients react with amino acids in the epidermis, creating what we might call a second layer of tan on the skin's surface, as the "standard" tanning process occurs simultaneously in the deeper layers of the skin. In the past, only a few substances were known to intensify a tan while using a tanning bed. Today, we use more than a dozen activators and complexes that make tanning even more effective; we've described some of them here , and you'll also find information about special-purpose ingredients in each of ourtanning lotion descriptions.
Remember, however, that a very dark tan isn't for everyone. We all have different skin types, and for some, trying to achieve a very dark tan can be fruitless or dangerous. You can read more about safe tanning practices and tan-obtaining issues here >>CLICK<<
A tan without spots or streaks
Let's start with the fact that every cosmetic product should be applied carefully and meticulously, and there's no other way to ensure a cosmetic product works uniformly across the entire face or body. Tanning products, including self-tanning lotions and other products containing DHA or other tan-enhancing ingredients, require exceptional care. Our number one rule is to prepare the skin for the application of this type of cosmetic. Exfoliation, brushing, or similar treatments are essential to this. However, be wary of enzymatic peels, where the exfoliation process usually takes several days to begin. If, despite exfoliation, the skin on certain parts of the body (e.g., knees) remains unsightly dry, it's worth paying more attention and rebuilding its structure through the regular use of moisturizing and regenerating products. Well-prepared skin becomes a canvas on which we can apply the tanning product without leaving streaks or streaks. It's worth doing this slowly and carefully, because the end result is worth it. We recommend applying tanning products in circular motions, starting with your feet and working your way up your body. A mirror nearby is also helpful to ensure no area of skin has been missed. After applying the product, dry your hands with a paper towel, paying attention to the spaces between your fingers, which tend to stain quickly. Finally, it's important to wait for the product to absorb—this will prevent smudging and staining your tanning bed or clothing.
A strange smell when sunbathing
Many of us associate tanning beds or self-tanners with a characteristic, unpleasant odor. In both cases, it's a natural component of the skin's reactions during tanning. Our way to avoid the so-called burnt chicken smell after tanning is to usetanning lotions . Each of our products has a fragrance that helps neutralize the stink. Fruity and floral scents, found in Booster , Grand Cru, TS, and #happy lotions, work well for this purpose. But what about the smell of self-tanner or spray tan? We can enhance the application experience by choosing a pleasantly scented product. For our No-Lie Natural Bronzing Mousse, we chose a delightfully orange scent, which is 100% natural. And if you're using a fragrance-free spray tan, for example, after waiting the suggested time (for our Uno Momento lotion, only 1 hour is enough) and a gentle shower, apply your favorite moisturizing lotion. The more often you do this, the better your tan will look and last longer, while also allowing the scent to linger throughout the day.
How to maintain your tan?
This question is asked by anyone who wants to enjoy sun-kissed skin for a longer period after a holiday, or who has achieved beautiful results after a visit to a tanning bed or using a self-tanner. In either case, proper skin care and regular moisturizing are essential. Following this logic, the durability of your tan will shorten its drying, and treatments that accelerate exfoliation will make spray tans or self-tanners fade much faster. However, to extend the life of your tanning bed, it's worth remembering about so-called booster sessions, i.e., regular visits to the tanning bed (e.g., 1-2 times a week), which are usually shorter than those used to build your tan, but help maintain the previously achieved result.
Or perhaps you have other tan expectations? If so, let us know, and we'll try to find a way to accommodate them.
