How to apply self-tanner ?
Now that you have the right tanning product in your makeup bag, it's time to get started. How do you properly apply self-tanner to avoid spots or streaks? We've prepared a step-by-step guide for you.
Step one – cleanse and thoroughly exfoliate your entire body
Before using self-tanning mousse, it's important to thoroughly exfoliate your entire body. Exfoliation will effectively remove dead skin cells and smooth the skin, ensuring much better results after applying self-tanner. It will also help your tan last much longer.
Step two – stop using other cosmetics
Remember not to apply any creams or lotions before using the self-tanner. This will help the self-tanner absorb better. You can also moisturize dry areas like knees and elbows.
Step three – apply self-tanning mousse
Shake the bottle, press the pump, and squeeze the contents into the glove. Now, using circular, firm motions, thoroughly apply the self-tanner to your entire body. We recommend applying a small amount of the product to the elbows, knees, wrists, and hands—these areas tend to dry out.
Step four - wait for it to dry
Before putting on clothes, be sure to wait for the liquid to dry on your skin. Then you can put on loose clothing and leave the foam on for about 4-6 hours.
Step five - take a warm shower
After waiting the appropriate amount of time, take a shower and rinse off any excess product with warm water. It's very important to gently pat your skin dry with a towel.
How long does the self-tan effect last ?
Typically, the tan lasts for about a week. To prolong your tan, remember to moisturize regularly, drink plenty of water, and maintain a healthy diet. Of course, you can reapply the self-tanning mousse if necessary.
