Preparing to use the solarium
But let's start with how to prepare for the solarium to fully enjoy a beautiful, even and perfect tan.
- The day before sunbathing, be sure to exfoliate to remove dead skin cells and make your tan last longer.
- To prevent possible irritation or allergic reactions, do not use deodorants or perfumes on the day of tanning.
- Before tanning, remove your makeup to ensure an even tan. You can remove your makeup at home or at a tanning salon, where makeup remover and cotton pads should also be available:
500 ml Makeup Remover Milk – A cleansing and makeup removal milk. It gently and effectively removes makeup and impurities. Using Onyx cleanser leaves skin feeling fresh and smooth.
-
- Don't use oils and other cosmetics not intended for indoor tanning , as they can irritate the skin and damage the tanning bed. Visit the "products" tab, where you'll find a huge selection of specialized tanning cosmetics, from white bronzers to black bronzers, accelerators, bronzing accelerators, and even tingle-effect balms, which you can read about in the previous article.
- Choose your sunbathing outfit according to your preferences: you can sunbathe in underwear, in a swimsuit or naked, but remember to cover your eyes with protective goggles.
- Moisturize your skin regularly after sunbathing. This will improve skin condition, hydrate and firm it, and also prolong the tan.
Contraindications to using a solarium
Unfortunately, not everyone can safely use a tanning bed due to the possibility of allergic reactions or skin problems caused by the imitation of sunlight. The following list of contraindications to tanning beds will help you avoid the unpleasant consequences of tanning.

- Cosmetics (deodorants and antibacterial agents in soaps, some fragrances (musk, lavender, cedar, vanilla, sandalwood and bergamot oils), retinoids (retinoic acid and its derivatives, retinol, with the exception of retinaldehyde, which does not sensitize the skin to sunlight), hydroxy acids (AHA, BHA).
- Sunscreens (benzophenones, cinnamic acid derivatives, oxybenzone, para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), PABA esters).
A tanning bed is undoubtedly the place to soak up the sun's rays. Remember to use the right cosmetics. Using sunscreen in a tanning bed is like taking a shower with an umbrella – it's pointless, as tanning products and sunbathing products have completely different functions. We recommend tanning bed cosmetics from Onyx, which will deepen your tan, provide your skin with delightful nourishment and protection from harmful factors, while some ingredients soothe, moisturize, and ensure faster regeneration. The scents of our products alone will captivate your senses and leave you wanting even more!
