A visit to the solarium step by step
We've prepared 10 tips to help you avoid stress during your first visit to a tanning salon. Follow these tips, and we guarantee the results will be stunning.
First time tanning bed tips:
- The day before tanning, exfoliate your entire body. This will remove dead skin, making your tan much more even and lasting longer.
- To prevent possible irritation and allergic reactions, do not use any antiperspirants or perfumes on the day of tanning.
- Remember to remove your jewelry before tanning. You don't want a white streak to appear on your skin where your necklace used to be.
- Before tanning, remove your makeup to ensure an even tan. Remove your makeup at home, but if you don't have time, you can do it at the salon. Makeup remover and cotton pads should be available at the salon. If you prefer to use your own cosmetics, bring them with you.
- Let the tanning salon staff know this is your first visit. They'll help you choose the right tanning bed and schedule your session based on your skin type and the results you're looking to achieve.
- Don't use oils or cosmetics that aren't intended for indoor tanning. They can irritate your skin and damage the tanning bed. Instead, use dedicated tanning lotions.
Indoor tanning lotions include bronzers, accelerators, and bronzing intensifiers. You can read more about specific categories HERE.
If you're just starting out in the tanning industry, we recommend tanning accelerator lotions . These typically have a white cosmetic consistency, so you won't experience any streaks and your tan will develop quickly, even if your tanning session isn't long.
Our Tanning Booster lotion is a real hit! It contains well-known ingredients that stimulate melanin production in the skin, helping you tan much faster. It also contains shea butter, coconut oil, and aloe vera, ingredients responsible for proper skin hydration and nourishment, as well as soothing irritation. The scent of fresh fruit guarantees a refreshing feeling after every tanning session. Your first visit to a tanning bed is the perfect time to try it!
- Choose your sunbathing attire based on your preferences. You can sunbathe in lingerie, a swimsuit, or even naked. Just remember to cover your eyes with special protective goggles.
- Your first tanning session in a solarium should last 5 to 8 minutes. You can extend this time on your next visit, but don't overdo it. Remember, tanning sessions should not exceed 15 minutes, and there should be at least 48 hours between sessions.
NOTE: The lighter the complexion, the longer the intervals should be.
- Moisturize your skin regularly after sunbathing. This improves skin condition, hydrates it, and thus prolongs the tan.
Our store offers a selection of tan extenders. La Playa Tan & Glow balm, in addition to pigmentation-boosting ingredients, also contains gold flecks that naturally enhance bronzed skin. It's a must-have for tanning enthusiasts!

- If you're taking contraceptives or other medications, read the label or consult your doctor before using a tanning bed. The same applies to beauty services – if you're undergoing treatments, such as laser hair removal, ask if you can tan. You can find more information about contraindications HERE!
